MEET THE FOUNDER

Hey! I'm Emmaline Frost. I was born and raised in Arizona, but started Sunshine Box Company while living with my husband and two boys in Florida. Sunshine has always been woven throughout my life, being named after my great aunt, "Sunshine Emmaline", and living in two sunshine states- Arizona and Florida.

When my family and I had barely moved to Florida, there were a series of events that prompted me to start the business of sending happy mail. It was the middle of covid, we were about to move to Florida for my husband to start a brand new residency program, and a couple weeks before selling our home and moving, I rescued my son from drowning in a canal and broke my hand doing so. Then we packed up the truck, made it Florida and that same son was hospitalized with Kawasaki Disease just a couple of months later. The next several years brought more challenges with a few more broken bones, infertility and my husband suffering a grand-mal seizure. Although I've always been drawn to sunshine, it felt as though the clouds and rain had settled in.

During this time, I met and saw many others who were struggling. People whose kids were in the hospital as well, spouses who were sick, struggling through infertility, miscarriage and loss and I longed to send friends something in the mail to brighten their spirits. I struggled with gift boxes that felt hollow, cheap or just didn't convey the proper messaging I was trying to send.

So Sunshine Box Company was born. It started out as just a gifting company for moms, but expanded into so much more. 

I now reside back in my home state of Arizona, all of my boys (including my husband) are healthy and thriving, as well as one bundle of joy finally on his way after several years of trying. Yay! Although I am surrounded by boys, the impact of women and friendship is not lost on me.

By connecting, sharing, showing up, and "sending sunshine", I believe and hope we can help brighten the world, one piece of happy mail at a time. Whatever your season of life may currently be, please remember that "you are loved" and you can make a difference.
